  • Curriculum Reviews:  In Curriculum Reviews, CASE21 Content Area Executive Directors spend time in a school (or multiple schools) sitting in on classes, talking with teachers and students, and observing the overall school climate.  The team then prepares a comprehensive report identifying the school’s strengths and making recommendations for improvement.  The formal report includes a section for the Principal addressing the school as a whole, as well as individual subject area reports for the teacher teams.

  • Scorecard Development: The NC Report Card tells an incomplete story about a school.  That’s why CASE21 can assist districts in preparing more comprehensive reports on your schools that include school climate data (suspensions and more), Teacher Working Conditions results and other statistics.  Scorecards also give schools goals for the year.  We can show you how to develop Scorecards for your schools.

  • Alignment of What’s Taught:  Successful schools align the written, taught, and tested curriculum to promote student mastery of state and national standards. Sequencing of the curriculum is an essential step in the alignment process. CASE21 staff members can assist schools and districts in developing pacing guides or walk you through using CASE21 Pacing Guides.  These guides are based on the state curriculum and indicate the unit and number of days teachers should spend on each unit, the state standards to which the unit is correlated, the core and supporting concepts, and timing of common and benchmark assessments.

  • Developing Common Assessments:  In Professional Learning Communities, teachers are told to develop Common Assessments.  For some teachers, finding the time or having the skill level to develop high-level assessment questions is a challenge.  CASE21 can provide professional development for schools and districts in developing Common Assessments that actually measure the curriculum and provide the information that teachers need to prepare students for unit and state tests.

  • Communications: It is more important than ever before for principals and district leaders to deploy a comprehensive communications effort to develop and strengthen relationships with parents and other stakeholders.  CASE21 staff can help school leaders determine key audiences, messages and means for communicating that will result in stronger bonds between your school and community.
