The Case21 Journey

The Case21 JourneyCASE21 has a close relationship with D. Loy Stewart, Sr., Chairman of the Board of Detyens Shipyards in South Carolina.  Mr. Stewart is a remarkable individual who has built many thriving businesses and met many lifelong friends in the process.  He says, “I used to invest in ideas; now I invest in people.”  CASE21 is proud to be his friend.

Among those whom Loy Stewart has mentored and sponsored is Metal Artist Matt Wilson.  All CASE21 clients are given the sculpture “Journey” as a thank you from us.  Here’s what “Journey” means to the artist and to CASE21.

First Stage: “’Journey’ is a representation of one’s adventure through life.  The first ladder is an easy climb to the first and largest platform of the three.  This particular part of the Journey represents the early stages of growth into the individual each of us wants to become.

Second Stage: To get to the second and smallest platform is not as easy as the first.  There is no ladder, so the climb up can be tricky.  You can figure out how to get there on your own, or receive help from someone.  Once on the second platform, you have reached a safe place, and can either stay there or advance further to become more successful in life.

Third Stage: The ladder to the third platform is there, but takes more skill to climb than the first ladder.  Once on the third platform, you have reached success in life—whatever you envision that to be.

At the Top:  Now it is time to slow down and reflect on the journey.  After some reflection, it is now time to ascend into the afterlife, which is represented by the top and final ladder.”    Matt Wilson
